A Thought Tree

What is more important?

Living life or writing about it?

Living seems to make time pass so much faster.

I should like to grab life by the pen and hold it back.

If only for a few uninterrupted moments of reflection.

Yet my eyes are drawn away from the page.

There are so many people I know who are alive.

They are children, but they are growing up.

They find love and create scandal.

Sometimes they are crushed but does anyone know?

We all walk in the silence of our souls.

Some of us accept who we are.

Some of us don't.

Some of us spend years or lifetimes searching for answers.

Meaning.

And maybe in the end we'll find it.

Maybe when we lie dying we will discover that we've lived.

We all will die, eventually.

Maybe it is more noble to read than to write?

And then we shall all die, known to ourselves and no other.

Indeed, who can we know better?

Except God.

Some of us seem to find Him somewhere deep in the recess of human conscience.

Those fortunate ones find themselves attached to a light burden.

They reflect the Image of perfection.

In finding who they are, they must also find out who He is.

Then they must find the cowardly demon within and strangle it.

The demon never dies quickly.

And there is ever the problem of rooting out the last little bits.

Many poor folks wind up terribly scarred from uprooting the wrong pieces.

A few have shredded their very existence searching for more of the demon.

They seem obsessed with it.

They suffer wounds which are not caused by any demon.

They look too much to themselves.

Others wrench the little devil free in a flourish.

Then they run head long to the tree of knowledge and gorge themselves.

We all need balance.

When will He become a part of us?

Can we throw out the pieces of our souls that we do not like?

No.

We are flawed by nature.

We will only know Him when we learn to like His creation.

Us.

There is a innocent child in all of us that wants freedom.

We want to trust.

There's fear, but we can find strength.

There are so many questions.

True love conquers all.
