All Those Introductions

There will always be
devils and dirt bags;
pirates on the sea;
rebels and old hags.

I can surely find
cannibals and hicks;
stone age fogies;
animals with sticks.

Every other day
I might see the pope;
meet a polish emperor
co-waltzing on a rope.

you on the other hand
I've only first met
I want to meet you every day
forever, I bet.

If I'm swept aside
or pass away and die
I'll gladly go with pride
and i do not know why.

But in the golden court
I hope to meet a saint
and then go meet the Lord
(I want to watch Him paint).

Beneath the fruitful tree
I'm sure I'll meet a few,
but who cares who I meet
as long as there is you!
