Today was a me day. Not by choice. The house is empty. My husband went to visit his best friend for the weekend (as a surprise birthday present), and my room mate is working.
Since I'm not rich and I do like shopping to make myself feel better, I decided to hit up thrift stores in the area and search for decent looking winter clothing.
As it so happens, all the decent winter stuff is bought up and I was only able to find a few summer clothes. This isn't breaking tradition. Usually when I go shopping I don't find what I am looking for.
In no particular order, I found a magazine rack, two framed beach posters, mermaid stationary, scrapbooking paper, three cute shirts and a book of stickers. Oh! I almost forgot. I also found three tall decorative glass jars with corks in them. I'm going to use those in decorating my laundry room.
So after spending several hours wandering about, my feet got sore, my belly started aching and I decided to set the GPS for home.
Upon arriving, I decided to thoroughly clean everything I'd bought. I took the beach posters out of the frames, removed broken shells that were hot-glued to the frames, and disinfected frame and glass thoroughly. Then I put Humpty back together again. The pictures actually turned out really cute! At some point I might add a fresh coat of white paint to the frames and hot glue on my own unbroken shells.
After that project was finished, I did a bit of homework. I got twenty of twenty on a quiz and felt quite pleased about that. I was already feeling conceited since I solved a particularly difficult math problem yesterday on the first try. I'm sure something will happen in the future to counterbalance my ego.
My best friend and I've been saving up these coins in a game we both play. We can send them to each other. We had over a thousand saved up so we decided to use them all at once. The coins go to a wheel of fortune. I spun away for a good hour and got a few decent prizes. My friend was unable to redeem her prizes and gave them all to me. This is the second time she's done that. The first time wasn't on purpose, but due to a brain fart. I'm feeling a bit guilty about profiting from her loss, but I'm sure I can use the prize winnings to benefit her in the future. It'll work out.
After all that hard work, I was hungry. So I scrambled some eggs, stuffed them between two slices of bread and inserted four pieces of avocado. Delicious! I should be sleepy now. I messaged my husband. He's not doing so hot. He's come down with a cold. I'm sure his friend will appreciate his thoughtful birthday present.
Tomorrow may be a busy day. I'm supposed to go to a painting class with the Cat and his friend. I made a new friend of my own the other day and she is planning to come with us. We're going to paint pottery. This is my first playdate with a new buddy in this community.
