I was lost within a jungle all the day and all the night
I could navigate by touch but couldn't find a way by sight
Past the vines and over tree logs fallen, I stumbled along
Just the darkness as companion; and a bird to sing me songs.
Blistered feet grew painful and my muscles burned for rest
At last when hope was lost with me I crumpled in distress
Shamefully I sobbed until I fell into a restless sleep
Still in my dreams I fled on foot from flocks of rabid sheep.
One bit me on the leg; so very painful that it felt real
when I woke up that pain lingered in the bottom of my heel
Something black and furry scuttled through the dead and dying leaves
Made me wonder what he'd stolen, there's no honor among thieves.
As sunlight filtered through the canopy I looked upon my skin
As pale as was my mothers; quite revealing what's within
My veins look somewhat darker than I think that they were last
Ink is running through my body; what a shock; I'm so aghast.
I am hunted by my master and at last I'm always found
This time deep within the jungle where I'm lying on the ground
He locks me in a cage and takes me back to his abode
To him I'm a possession, but to me he's just a toad.
When he takes me to his chambers and prepares himself a feast
I prepare to be devoured by the jaws of hungry beasts
He sinks his fangs into my arm and tastes my blackened blood
Then he promptly falls upon his knees and swears undying love.
His eyes have changed, they look at me, but he's not in them now
They're black as night and shining with devotion to his vow
He will serve the queen of all arachnids 'til the day he dies
for looking at him now is someone else behind my eyes.
